Slab swaps, pre-hung installs, hollow-core to solid-core upgrades. Bedrooms, baths, closets, laundry. Reuse existing trim or replace.

How it works

From measurement to swing test.

Measure or photo

For a swap, send a photo of the existing door plus rough dimensions. For a new install or different size, we measure on a free walkthrough.

Estimate

Written estimate spelling out door type (slab vs pre-hung), hardware reused vs replaced, and any threshold or weatherstrip work. Ordered doors add lead time we'll flag up front.

Schedule

Single-door swaps often book within the week. Multi-door jobs and exterior installs typically 1–2 weeks out, weather permitting.

Hang, square, seal

Demo old door, set new one plumb and square, install hardware, weatherstrip if exterior, swing test, and clean up.

Labor only. Door cost depends on what you pick (interior hollow-core can be $80, an exterior fiberglass entry can be $400+) — we list the door cost separately on the estimate.

$150 minimum per visit. Door repair (sticking, sagging, strike-plate fixes) is typically a same-visit job at the minimum. Door cost is separate and listed on the estimate; smart-lock installs add $50 per lock for setup and testing.

What people ask about doors.

Either. Most clients buy the door themselves — Lowe's, Home Depot, or a Fort Worth millwork supplier — because picking style, finish, and hardware is a personal call. We're happy to spec the door size and provide a list of what to ask for, or shop with you. If you want us to source the door and bring it, we add the door cost plus a small handling fee on the estimate.
Slab if you're keeping the existing frame and hinges (faster, cheaper, the existing fit is reused). Pre-hung if the frame is damaged, you're changing door size, or it's an exterior door (which always installs as pre-hung for proper weather seal). We'll tell you which the situation calls for after we measure.
Slab swap with hardware reuse: about 1 hour. Pre-hung interior install: 2–3 hours. Pre-hung exterior install: 3–5 hours including weatherstripping and threshold. Multiple doors in one visit run faster per door because we batch the cuts and adjustments.
Yes — that's one of our most-booked door jobs. Common causes: a sagging hinge, a strike plate that's drifted out of alignment, a swollen door from humidity, or a settled frame. Most fixes are a same-visit repair under the $150 minimum visit charge. We'll diagnose and quote on the spot.
Repair yes — roller replacement, track cleaning, lock and handle swaps, weatherstrip replacement. Full sliding door replacement we typically refer because they often involve framing changes that are outside handyman scope. We'll tell you honestly which side of the line your project falls on.
